number 29, the penultimate installment of “connect the dots.”
mr. sullivan swims back to the day he lost his son. thanksgiving 1985.
his dream weaves this discovery with his life-long distance, his remorse, and the note that spelled out his son’s despair.
theme’s from “the night sky” and “iv” reappear, intermingled in another open structure, a through composition. breaking open further still. in the end he reaches out to join his son, only to find that there is no one there but himself. and then no one there at all.
